Hotels

We aren't able to do a hotel block, but we did want to provide 2 recommendations for places to stay, one being an all-inclusive and one a non-all-inclusive.

We are looking at the top strip of the Hotel Zone so closer to venue (about 20-25 mins), pretty beach, and walkable to food & fun.

There are a LOT of other options in that area from cheap to high-end where you could still walk to get shuttle: Not all-inclusive: Intercontinental Presidente, Aloft; All-inclusive: Dreams, Hotel Ziva, Hotel Riu Palace (adults only), etc. so you are totally free to pick wherever or pick another area and find own transpo, stay in Air B n B, etc.

Here's a map from hotels to venue, with airport at bottom, so that makes sense:

Both options are under the same company (11-min walk apart). Note that security is strict at hotels so can't be on property at a hotel you aren't staying at for friend group considerations.

Here's zoomed in so you see the segment:

We joined the rewards program as it's cash back.

There is also a refundable member rate available once you get to room selection if you become a member, validate email, etc. that's showing as lowest. Warning it is a bit of a wonky process. Just double check you're booking refundable rate if that's what you want.

There are also deals/packages available through third-party sites (airlines, Costco for all-inclusive, etc).

Option 1

Fiesta Americana Cancún Villas

Km. 8.5, Blvd. Kukulcan Lote 3, Punta Cancun, Zona Hotelera, 77500 Cancún, Q.R., Mexico

-Affordable, non-all-inclusive resort (smaller property)

-Jimell and I will be staying here

-Room options: (a) 2 doubles or 1 king (told me assigned at check in) or (b) 1 king villa w/pull-out couch

Option 2

Grand Fiesta Americana Coral Beach Cancún

Blvd. Kukulcan km. 9.5, Punta Cancun, Zona Hotelera, 77500 Cancún, Q.R., Mexico

-SOLD OUT through website so can try third-party sites such as Costco (linked below), airline travel sites, Hotels.com, etc. for hotel & airport transfer

-All-inclusive: Larger property but not at all a sprawling, mega resort

-Careful as there is another all-inclusive property in the brand further down, Fiesta Americana Condesa Cancun, so DO NOT book there.

-All suites, differing layouts

-Jimell and I stayed here during our pre-con in Sept and it was lovely -- we would both stay again if we had more time to enjoy.

-Good value for $

-Security is very tight so if you have friends at another hotel, you can't hangout/walk in the door at the all-inclusive if not staying there.

TRANSPORTATION

The wedding is not at a hotel/resort, as it's a private venue. Since "offsite," we will plan to run a shuttle to and from the hotels mentioned above. You can also Uber, but I would not plan to drive.

There is no Uber allowed from the airport to anywhere, but you can Uber from hotel to airport & anywhere else. There are also no taxis to just hop in cheaply at the airport--the private companies will gouge you at the airport if you don't have a plan.

Here is a dedicated link to pre-book airport shuttle transportation if you don't have already through a third-party package deal:

1) You would select "Cancun Airport - Cancun Hotel Zone & Center" if staying in one of the two suggested hotels and list the hotel on the second screen.

2) In the "Comments" section on the last screen, please list: "Miia and Jimell Wedding Group."

We also have contact info to private drivers if want for any other time during the week--please reach out to Miia & I will give you their WhatsApp info.
